William Paterson University Presents So Good! The Neil Diamond Experience Starring Robert Neary on October 18

So Good! The Neil Diamond Experience, a tribute to the musician Neil Diamond starring Broadway, television, and movie actor Robert Neary, will be staged at William Paterson University in Wayne on Friday, October 18.

The show, part of the University’s WP Presents! series and presented by James D”Amico’s Sun Concerts, starts at 8 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus.

As a Broadway, television, and motion picture actor for more than 35 years, Robert Neary creates a one-of-a-kind production, talking about the songs and telling the stories behind them, from Neil Diamond’s interviews, quotes, and autobiographical books. Neary and the band will perform 20 of Diamond’s greatest hits, including “Cherry Cherry,” “I Am, I Said,” “I’m a Believer,” “Solitary Man,” “Holly Holy,” “Coming to America,” “Sweet Caroline,” and many more.

Born and raised in East Meadow on Long Island, Neary gained immediate success as an actor at age 20 with a guest star role in the TV series Fame, and then opposite Jason Bateman in the film, Teen Wolf Too. He has guest starred in more than 50 television shows, including Criminal Minds, Sons of Anarchy, The Closer, Grey's Anatomy, Blue Bloods, Justified, The Fosters, FBI: Most Wanted, Weeds, Medium, NCIS, and NCIS New Orleans. He landed his first Broadway show in 1996, starring in Smokey Joe’s Café, and toured as the Zoser in Elton John’s Broadway hit Aida. He understudied the lead role of Sonny in the Broadway smash, A Bronx Tale, The Musical.

The show is sponsored by Restaurant Novelli in Wayne.
