A successful career in finance calls for a unique set of skills and is ideally suited for students who are inquisitive and exploratory in nature. The MBA concentration in finance is designed to prepare students for key leadership roles in business. Finance professionals work with budgets, corporate mergers and acquisitions, trade markets, derivative securities, and other business disciplines. In the finance concentration, students apply mathematical aptitude to a variety of values in corporate and small business.

Finance specialists provide expertise and strategic thinking in areas related to financial analysis, financial planning, financial management, investment banking, credit analysis risk management, and many others. The MBA concentration in finance also prepares students for advanced certifications such as the CFA, CFP, CFO, CFS, among others.

Admission Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and official transcripts from all institutions of higher learning attended.
  • Professional resume detailing educational and work experience
  • Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher OR
  • Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75+ with 2 years of work experience in a professional supervisory capacity OR
  • Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75+ and a minimum score of 500 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or a minimum score of a 152 verbal and a 152 quantitative on the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)
