Vice President's Office The mission of the Division of Student Development is to support the personal, social, and intellectual development of our students and to complement and expand upon what they learn in the classroom. We know that students who become involved in campus life and make meaningful connections with their peers, faculty and staff are most likely to have a positive experience and to be successful at the University and in future endeavors. We urge students to become involved in one or more of our many clubs and organizations, to compete in or support intercollegiate, intramural and club sport activities, to seek opportunities to develop their leadership skills and preparation for graduate school and/or career, to participate in civic engagement activities and to utilize our many support services. My staff and I are gratified to be a part of this caring and dynamic community and are very proud of our students and what they accomplish. Our primary goal and responsibility is to facilitate student success and to urge students to take full advantage of their opportunities while at William Paterson University. We actively pursue opportunities to engage directly with students and to learn about their William Paterson University experience – what we are doing well and what we could do better – and welcome feedback via email, personal appointment, and interactions at student events and programs.
