The university collaborates with departments interested in developing new short-term faculty-led programs abroad. For the university's purposes, a short-term program is defined as: Led by full-time faculty (tenure-track or clinical). Featuring at least one credit-bearing course. Lasting at least three weeks. Paired with co-curricular programming relevant to the host location. A rough outline for submitting new proposals includes: STEP 1: Departments interested in proposing a new short-term program should reach out to the appropriate university officials, such as the Associate Provost for Curriculum and International Education (CaIE), for an initial conversation. They may then be invited to complete a short curriculum planning document. This form is meant for initial exploration of new short-term programs and will be reviewed by the relevant university offices. STEP 2: Following review and approval to move forward, the Office of the Provost will contact the department/faculty to set up a planning meeting to discuss the program in more detail. During this phase, a fuller narrative and program proposal, as well as a preliminary program budget, will be developed. STEP 3: A final proposal is submitted for review. If approved, the sponsoring department will work with the relevant university offices to launch the new program based on the established timeline. STEP 4: The department and associated faculty work with the Associate Provost for CaIE to implement a promotional plan. The faculty director works closely with this office throughout the academic year on administrative items related to launching the program. ANTICIPATED TIMELINE: At least one year in advance from the target launch term. For more information please contact us at Lincolnj@wpunj.edu
